I decided to take my mom's advice and buy a "motivation outfit" to help me stay on track with my weight loss efforts. I'd planned to go to Kohl's next week... I love the clothes at Kohl's. But, we were already at the store today anyway so I checked out the clearance racks just to see what there was to see. As I told my mom "Current me doesn't like Wal Mart clothes, but Skinny Me might like something." LOL
Now, Current Me and Skinny Me have the same tastes in clothes anyway, so it was not likely but I figured it couldn't hurt to just look. And I did manage to find an outfit, and for $8 at that!

The skirt is actually all purple, I've never been able to get blues or purples to photograph properly. Just one of those random things I can't seem to figure out despite my knowledge with the cameras I have; I know a lot of people have issues with purples looking blue in photos so at least it's not just me. But it does bug me that for all the dreaming I do of being a professinal photographer some day, I can't get purple to photograph accurately.

But ANYWAY.
The idea behind a "motivation outfit" is this - you find an outfit you LOVE that you thought you could never, ever wear. In my case, that's a tank top and short skirt. And once you find that outfit - make sure it's not just any old outfit, it's important that you LOVE it! - buy it in the size you ultimately WANT to be. Then be absolutely determined to be able to wear that outfit! Hang it up somewhere where you will see it often on a daily basis, and use it as your motivation to exercise and watch what you eat.
I did not think of it until after I got home, I probably should have bought the shirt a size larger... even once I'm at my goal weight/size, my girls are still gonna be quite large. LOL (Sorry if TMI!) But, oh well. Both the top and skirt are a size medium (7/9). So now you know what my goal is... but I'm still not telling where I started. Not yet anyway. Maybe some day I'll be willing to share... but not just yet.
I'm still quite far from my goal size, but I've calculated that if I can maintain an average 2 pounds of weight loss per week and stick with it, I should be in that outfit by Christmas.

Even if it takes a little while longer, I won't mind. I'm gonna fit into that outfit soon. I WILL. I am determined! I know I have the legs for short skirts... even plus sized my legs are still damned nice, it's from many many many years of figure skating - from the time I was 8 years old till I was seventeen. All that skating still shows through my bigger size, they just need toned up some is all. Call me vain if you want, but I know I've got great legs. And I want to be able to show them off again!
